Porsche 996 Carrera C2 Coupe

The 996 was introduced as a 1998 model, and was a major leap forward for Porsche. For the first time in the evolution of the 911, the car shared no major mechanical components of its predecessor. The 996 had an all new bodyshell and an entirely new water-cooled 3.4 litre engine, with the mechanical layout staying the same with the new six-cylinder boxer engine mounted longitudinally. In late 2002 the 996 was updated with revised headlamps.
